Wonder Valley International School

Wonder Valley is an English medium, co-educational learning community.  We seek to create a holistic learning environment that nurtures each child’s individual talent and intelligence, as well as their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Through inquiry and experiential learning we inspire children to discover what it is they love to do and where their full potential lies.

Our 25-acre campus is nestled in a beautiful valley in Thung Lung, 20 kilometres from Hat Yai, the business centre of southern Thailand.

We use the globally recognised English National Curriculum.
Admissions are currently open for Nursery, Reception, Year 1- Year 3. We plan to open another class each year as our students grow upto IGCSE.

Wonder Valleyis is deeply concerned with creating an environment of care, nurturing freedom and security without inflicting fear on the young minds. Our educators do not compare, reward or punish children for who they are but help them to learn about both themselves and the world.

Children who are attuned to themselves, to who they really are, will grow into adults with psychological clarity to remain resilient and impactful in this increasingly unpredictable world.

Natural aesthetics are essential for a child’s well-being. Thus open skies, perennial streams, clean air, water and wholesome food form an integral part of the community.

How did Wonder Valley begin?

Although Wonder Valley is not committed to a particular approach to education per se, our visions have been inspired by the questions raised by Jiddu Krishnamurti, renowned thinker of the 20th century. Krishnamurti felt that the true purpose of education is self-understanding, without which all of man’s technological advancement and intellectual prowess will only bring about more suffering and destruction.

Twenty five years ago, there was an initiative to start a holistic school called The Orchid Hill in Thung Lung. However, the educational climate in southern Thailand was not progressive enough for such an endeavour to take root and the proposal was scrapped.

In the hope that the younger generation of Thais passionate about education would resume the project, land in the neighbourhood had gradually been procured over the years to build the school campus.

Wonder Valley is officially registered as an international school with the Thai Ministry of Education and intends to obtain legal status as a social enterprise in the near future.
